Since so many of us have a keen interest in breeding, I thought it might be good to have a dedicated page for fry/breeding food, alternate foods and successfully used conditioning foods for a particular species of fish.
FRY FOOD RED COLOR indicates emergency (unexpected fry) and
BLUE indicates alternative food.
+ indicates that food can be fed to egg hatched fry.

CONDITIONING FOOD
Live Blood Worms - Basic Conditioning food for all breeding fish. Frozen type is not as effective.
Live Earth Worms - Alternative Conditioning food for larger fish
Live Mosquito Larvae - Ideal for predatory fish. Successful with Bettas and Angelfish.
Ox Heart - Ideal for Discus and Angelfish but can be used for other fish within their size range.
Spirulina Sticks - Ideal for Ancistrus and Plecostomus. Can be supplemented with frozen bloodworms.
Live Feeder fish (Mollies, guppies, goldfish)- Should only be fed as a conditioner if the fish is on a flake and pellet diet.
Adult Live Brine Shrimp - Second best to live mosquito larvae.
Feel free to add to the list. Commercial products should not be added by brand but rather the type of food. Example : Freeze Dried Shrimp instead of
SuperFish Freeze Dried Shrimp.
Also indicate what fish the food was successful with.
