Which fish will breed in my 55G?

How do I know what fish in my 55G might breed? Do I know they are "breeding" other than waiting for some fry to appear? Should I give them a day of privacy? 8)

See my tank blurb and let me know what will be most likely to breed. I don't know the sex of most of my fish, which will make this a little harder I imagine! Thanks.

Platies and zebra danios are very likely to breed but expect the fry and eggs respectively to become the other tankmates' meals. Male zebra danios are often slimmer so it should be easy to distinguish them from the females. Male platies have pointed anal fin which is actually a gonopodium used to deposit sperms in the female's vent. Female livebearers always have a triangular-shaped anal fin near the vent.

in such a huge mix of breeds i doubt anything will want to breed.
personally id find out what sex your kribensis is then get the opposite gender and they should breed pretty easy.
best thing if you do want your fish to breed is to either have a spare tank that you could transfer the fry into or just have a tank set up for breeding. and if your a first time breeder perhaps try something easy like convicts (this is if you get the second tank for breeding)

I had a lady once say I could spawn fish by throwing them on a sponge. I guess a 55g tank would be an improvement from that. I have killies spawning in a 2 1/2g tank. Yes, a 55g tank is a very good choice in whi choice in which to spawn fish. You will just have to decide which fish you want to start.

Yes, but be careful because they can be agressive during spawning, and since they are in a community tank, this may not be the best option. Also, male kribs can often be very eager to breed and nip and harass the female, so perhaps best have a ratio of 3 females to one male? ANyone have any thoguhts on that suggestion?
