If Riccia fluitans and other plants are available in your area, get some so the fry can eat microorganisms in the plants.
Here's my preferred method in raising the fry aside from the plants:
Get an egg and cook it. I'm referring to the hard-boiled egg. Scrape a small part of the egg yolk and put it in a jar of water. Get a medicine dropper and get the water which contains egg yolk. Squirt that food to the shoal of fry. Proteins are available in the egg yolk so the fry get enough protein as subsititute to the yolk sac which will be used up by the fry in a few days.
Feed the fry only when they are in free-swimming stage.
P.S. Eat the rest of the hard-boiled egg as it would be a waste of food and money. Make sure to use a clean spoon when scraping the egg yolk. |
