My betta ate 20 RCS in the space of an hour. IMHO RCS can't be kept with a betta. I removed the betta and voila, a gazillion RCS in no time at all. I have found that adding Almond Leaves ups the mortality rate tremendously. The baby shrimp feed off of the bacteria that grows on dead leaf matter. Even though I had lots of java moss in the tank it wasn't until I added the Almond Leaves did I notice a population explosion.
