Dalmatian molly..When will she give birth?

Just wondering..I purchased a very pregnant dalmatian molly on Friday night. She is in her own 20g tank with many hiding places for the fry when they are born. I found one fry in there on Saturday and transferred him to my fry tank. he is doing well and I have not seen any other fry since then. However, she is still very fat so it doesn't look like she gave birth to her entire brood, or very many at all. Is this possible? Has anyone else had this experience? I'm just wondering when she might decide to give birth to the rest. =)

30g:
2 gold mollies
4 guppies
2 sailfin mollies
2 swordtails

10g:
6 female bettas.

i understand that a molly can bive birth over a few days....maybe she has had ALL her fry and they got eaten...but she may just be waiting to give birth....try doing a water change and uping the temp to 27c-28c if she dosnt have fry then....i think they will have been eaten ....good luck :):):)

Hmmmm, typically females that give birth don't stop and have the rest later on. It's likely that you can't find the other fry yet, or she ate them. It is possible but unlikely that she will give birth to the rest of her batch soon if she didn't already. It's not going to harm anything to keep her in there for a couple more days, so you might as well in case she does. The only reason I wouldn't keep her in there is in the case you can't find all the fry in there. They may get eaten if she sees them in there with her.

What pic? *forgets since this was a bit ago*

Anyways, OP, did you ever get any more babies or what happened?

I'd imagine they're like guppies...
Guppies can get pregnant, then get pregnant again by another male (or the same one) at any time.

Also, even being alone, they can store the "genetic material" from the male and fertilise themselves with it when they have room for it.

Thats why professional breeders keep males away from females-
The females can get pregnant once and give birth regularly for the rest of their life from that first male.

It's also possible that she did have a lot of fry, and ate the most of them... and that could be why she still looks so fat.

Hopefully a bunch of the others are just hiding from you really well. =)
