Best to use a plastic breeder unit if you can because the fish can sometimes try to suck the eggs/babies through the net. Even though they won't actually get them through they can still damage/kill them while trying.

Is agree with Julie, the plastic ones work much better for the eggs. Once the babies hatch and start eating yu can transfer then into a new breeder as it allows for more circulation and the excess food will be sucked out the bottom and won't build up.

What foods do you have for feeding the fry?

thanks ill try and find 1 so far its be about a day or two most of the eggs turned brown and 2 stayed white, they layed and fertilized another batch on a plastic container i left those because the mom wont left the others near them but so far i think there fine there are about 17-20 eggs

Sorry to hear that.

Get a plastic breeder unti next time you're out and if they spawn again you'll have it ready.

Fish 4, Did you mean NET breeder once the babies are bigger?

It's getting late here on the Eastern Seaboard and I'm getting easily confused. Time for bed! :o *yawn*

I think I actually used the net breeder from the beginning. I tried both though and both worked but I got more molded eggs from the plastic breeder.
