We have a pair of Cobalt Blue Cichlids in a 55G. They are about 6 mo. old. We have known for quite awhile that we had a male and a female. Coby has the pointed fin, the brighter coloration and several egg spots so naturally, that's the male! Well imagine my shock when (he) started dropping eggs!!!!!! Almost immediately, Gimp, the female, started swimming upside down in front of Coby and we noticed for the 1st time that (she) had bigger, brighter egg spots than Coby! Unfortunately, she swallowed the eggs (too young still,I think). Anyway, now I keep looking at the rest of our fish and wondering how many others we've gotten wrong. This would be soooo much easier if they had labels or something! lol!
