Common Pleco Eggs

About a month or so ago I for seen a problem in one of my large tanks and had to strip it down,
The only place for me to temp house the pleco was iin the tank above him, which already had a large pleco in it,
Anyways I noticed them seeming to get along rather well. Came to the conclusion it was a male and female.
I knew they didn't breed easily if at all in home aquariums, (or so I thought) so I didn't think about it again.

Anyways was lazy about chasing the big guy down and putting him back in his tank, until yesterday.
During my cleaning I found a HUGH jell mass of what I could only describe as Eggs. I threw them out because all I had in that tank was young grow out mollies, A pr of loaches, Couple male zebra danio's. a couple cories and a male betta. Never even crossed my mind to think of the plecos until after I cleaned it off and threw it out,
It must have been a good 5 inchs round and a inch thick. It was attached to the outlet of my submersible filter,
I know one pleco spent alot of time in that area.

Now I'm left wondering and wishing I took a picture of it, Was it possible to be pleco eggs?
anyone have any experiance with common pleco's and Their eggs?

Dang it really was their eggs then.
Geeze I wish I hadn't been so stupid and discarded them.

I wonder how long before she'll lay again.

Sounds like you missed a great opportunity to grow some Plecos. If it was a small handful of salmon egg like mass sorta in a ball you definately had a spawn. The eggs start yellowish and get pink as they develop. They are pretty easy to hatch and you end up with HUNDREDS! You need some space to grow them up tho so perhaps you will be prepared next time. If you want general instructions just ask. What fun!
