It really depends on the pleco. If you are just talking about a standard bushynose you should be fine. Some of the smaller Hypancistrus will predate on fish fry and shrimp, large sailfins and hypostomus have also been known to eat fry.

Cory cats and snails will do well. Cory cats really just eat any extra food off the ground.

Our common plecos eat any dead fry that are in the gravel, but there are some that are strictly herbivores.

OK thanks to both of you!! I will put some small snails that came on one of my live plants from the lfs and buy a baby cory for 1$ ! I am not puting a pleco because most of the plecos at the lfs are common plecos and they are all different so I will do some research and upgrade to a pleco eventually on my next batch of fry. Once again Thanks!!

Since cories are schooling fish, you will want to buy more than just one. Usually it is recommended to have no less than 6 ;)

20 gallon long: 3 adult Neolamprologus similis + about 11 fry of various ages; low light planted tank
20 gallon long:2 freshwater dwarf puffers (Puff Puff and Poofer); medium-light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Wormy; low light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Dante; low light planted tank
2, 5.5 gallon tanks that are currently empty (I see more fish on the horizon )
