My boyfriend works at a fish store where there is a large Discus tank with a breeding pair among the 7 adult fish. They keep trying to have fry, but the other fish are eating them all. I have a 10 gallon fry tank at home and I would like to try raising some of the lil guys before they "hatch" and get eaten... but I know they eat the parents' slim coat for the first few days..
Can they survive without the slime coat? I can feed them baby brine...??:-?

well they feed on a mucus coating i mean this idea is out there but you could experiment with maybe honey that is assuming the mucus covering the parent has is made up of ammino acids basicly sugars but that is a long shot
