Breeding Net

I have a very pregnant Dalmatian Molly and would like to stick her in a Breeding net to save the Fry from the other fish in the tank. The questions I have: 1) How long do I leave her in there? 2) How bad will her being in the net stress her out? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Sorry, no pics, but she is so big, she looks like she is going to blow up!!

breeding nets are generally frowned upon around here for the exact reason of stressing the fish out, but different fish will react differently to being thrown into a small environment as that best method is if you have another empty tank to throw them in there but if you don't then you might just have to use the net. As for when to put her in it all depends on how soon she will drop, I generally wouldn't want to keep a fish in such a small space for more then 24-48 hours.

Btw welcome to TFK.

Thanks for Info, Resolution

Wanted to say thanks for the info. I still had some mixed emotions on what to do, so this is my Resolution, and it worked much better than anticipated. I went to Petsmart today and purchased a Breeder Net. After assembly and cleaning the net, I carefully scoped up my Molly and put her in the net. At first she was very nervous about her new location in the Tank, but she calmed down after 5 minutes, and then I gave her some freeze dried brine shrimp, which she ate. About a half hour after she was put into the net, I noticed she started dropping Fry at a good rate. After 2 hours, and about 25 Fry, I placed her back into general population in the tank. I did notice that there are a few dead Fry, but it sounds normal considering its only a loss of 10%. I did also notice the Molly Mother is still very large, and am wondering if she is still pregnant waiting to drop more Fry, or if this is the next batch to come?
