Breeder boxes.

Hey all,

I've noticed the store bought breeder boxes were all very tiny. I'm just curious if anyone knows the reason for this?

I was thinking of making a DIY breeder box out of plexiglass that is way larger, and less stressful hopefully for the female.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a breeder box type thing 0 stress on a female? If that's possible?

I know some people go to the craft store and buy needle point canvas. It's like $2. They cut it to make a breeder box and just sow it together with thread.

The manufacturers select a 'standard' size box. Most live bearers don't grow over 3inch and the boxes are like 6inch...

I made my own with 2 ferrero rocher plastic boxes. It has 2 levels spereatd by a bathing flower net. Everything is held together with rubber bands...

It cost me nothing.

You're not supposed to keep the female in the box for more than 72 hours. She WILL die over prolonged periods of staying in the box.
