Baby Guppy

I have one baby fry, and it is by itself in my room. I feed him frozen baby brine shrimp. However, he is still small and has grown maybe one centimeter in the course of two weeks. Is he experiencing a stunted growth? Is there anything i should do to increase his growth? He is healthy, is fed 2-3x daily, and is the only survivor of his 5 brothers and sisters.

Sounds like normal growth rate to me. Are you using sponge filter? If so, you're on the right track. Sponges often provide the fry with microorganisms to feed on. The draw from other filters prove harmful to the fry.

Try doing frequent water changes with multiple feedings. If water is kept clean, the growth rate is faster than most fry raised differently with lesser water changes and lesser feeding rations.

One way to speed up the growth of baby guppies is to increase the tempreture of the tank.

Crank the tempreture up a few degrees, I wouldn't recomend going over 28.5 degrees as that is a bit too warm for guppies.

But yeah, turn your tank up to 27/28 degrees and that should help the growth, as will regular feeding.
