Man you are screwed no matter what huh?

Well I did not want to mention these until a last resort.

You'd need another controller to shut most of them on and off. We used some of these when I lived in Michigan to prevent our ponds from freezing completely over in the negative freezing temperatures for 4 months. For us the goal was to keep a small portion from freezing completely over and preventing gas exchange. In your temperate area these might keep it 70F all winter long.

For the geothermal unit it won't matter. There are places that have them here and the tidal water table is only 3-5 feet below the surface. The drilling goes through any water table and anything else down to the bedrock or as deep as needed and then the pipes are put in the holes. If I remember right they are doing this in Florida as a source of heat for new housing developements. If they can do it there it should be easy anywhere else.
