What's that large mouthed fish you touched?..Couldn't tell but it looked like a grouper..

It was a grouper.....that one actually got bit in the lip by one of the sharks later in the dive.

He was ok... just a nibble. They said that the sharks go after them quite a bit.... cause they keep trying to steal the sharks food.
Funny thing ..... The only injury they have had in the recient pass was a feeder getting bit by a grouper.

Besides sharks, groupers also scare me. I was diving under some kelp beds off of La Jolla Shores and I looked over and saw a five foot one next to me, doing that "open mouth, close mouth" thing that they do. Fish the same size as me get me a little skeched out. I tagged my buddy and we swam away pretty quickly. Thing scared the heck out of me!
