The bally thing was some kind of coral.... no idea what kind but it looked cool so I took a pic.
Unfortunately many of the sharks had hooks in them. Our dive master said the the anglers just bring the sharks along the boat and cut the line, leaving the hook to rust out. One of the regulars had about a 20-40 foot piece of line trailing from it earlier this past summer, so the put it into tonic imobility and cut the line so it wouldn't get tangled with the divers. That would be scary.... getting tangled in fishing line attached to 6-7 foot reeh shark !!!!!
I once dove where there were a bunch if small 1-2 inch jellies, but I was wearing a wet suit.
Sheesh 20-40ft line yeah that wouldn't be fun but I guess fishing lines do break often. At least they can rust out though.
Lucky you with a wet suit on. I was ina bikini and snorkel gear an there is was no right way to move..lol
