umm california has good beaches but not sure bout coral.isn't it cheap to come here? the exchange rate is at 3.4 i think

California does NOT have good beaches. xD Have to go to Hawaii to see beautiful corals... which I've actually done a couple times.

And me and a couple buddies were actually thinking about heading to Thailand and Malaysia soon.

good choice =) philiphines and indonesia have very good coral as well.if your planing malaysia kapalai,mabul or sipadan will be great.im heading over to kapalai in october...

Only thing that sucks is that alot of those places are semi-remote, no? I have no idea how I would navigate in Thailand OR Malaysia seeing as I'm just a simple, english-speaking, american, lol.

indonesia and philiphines yes in malaysia where sipadan it's quite easy to get there.ou won't have problems with the language.we speak perfect english as it's our second language. so no problem navigating.get on a flight to kuala lumpur transit to tawau. there the people from the resort will fetch you to semporna and you take a 45 minute boat ride to your destination.theres a PADI institute there for diving lessons too.so everythings covered.
