Question when a fish dies...

ok, so I'm pretty sure toothbrush has kicked the bucket at this point. My question is this: when one of your fish dies do you flush it or bury it? I've buried fish in the past but I was curious if flushing is considered bad form.

im very corny about it, i bury in the backyard under a big rock with its name (or if not named, its species) above it. but i cant stand the thought of a cat getting to it so i put them in ziplock bags. that will be an interesting find for someone someday haha

In the past, mine have been flushed but now I might be a little more sentimental and I might try to bury them. Haha.

Anyway, here's a novel idea if you have the guts. Haha

When I was about 6, my first Plecostamus died, and I kept it on my windowsill for a week...

Most fish deaths get buried nowadays though. Especially the very few occasions truly great fish have succumbed. though any smaller ones that die do their part for the tank ecosystem and provide nutrient for the others :D

The fish will inherit the earth.

Luckily I've only had to bury a few. They get buried under my prized garden specimens. When the plants blooms I thank the fish for helping the plant.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I bury mine near plants in the garden. Like what aunt kymmie says, even in death, the fish can be able to help another living thing.

Your fish love watching you as much as you love watching them. So please practice responsible fishkeeping.
