Tin Foil Barb & Travel ???

I believe I have a tinfoil barb. It is a year old and when they said it would get large I was picturing my 3 year old opaline gorami who is like 4" long, however I could fit about 10 of my gorami into this huge 6" tin foil barb to equal his mass!

I have several smaller tetras in there some barely an inch, so I'm worried he may someday eat them.

My mom said she would take it but she only has a 30 gallon tank. (mine is 55 gal with professional fluval filter in the cabinet).

Can a tinfoil barb live in in a 30 gallon? (she has 2 skirted tetras and a huge common pleco only).

What would I need to buy to travel 8 hours with this fish. I was hoping to place a garbage bag into a styrofoam cooler, and heard that there might be air tablets I could place in it to help him breath.

Is this even possible?

Tinfoils can reach 12-16 inches max. A 30g has inadequate space for one, let alone a group. Best to give them to someone who can house them in a large tank or the LFS.

Thanks! I was told by LFS it was full grown now. I only have the one, but I guess I'll have to ask someone to take it :( Especially now that I have the full story about what size it may really reach.
