tank mates for rhombo barbs

hi everyone,

i have a 40 gallon tank with 6 rhombo barbs in it and i'm looking for some good companions. i had a betta fish in there for a few years but he recently died. the betta was aggressive and so i couldn't put anything else in the tank. now that he's gone, i'd like to have a few more fish in there.

any suggestions? thanks in advance!

hello and welcome. :)
how about some corydora catfish for the bottom of the tank ?

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Welcome to the forum! I agree, Corys would be a nice addtion and they are so mellow AND funny. Are the barbs the only inhabitants at the moment?

this is the tank. it's sort of in a bit of disarray because we just moved.

Yes, but I can see once you get it out of its state of "disarray" it's going to look great.

thanks guys. i got 6 cories (schwartz's) and they seem to be doing great with the barbs.

of course while i was at the LFS i saw some absolutely stuning diamond tetras and now i wish i had a bigger tank. lol...

i will take some more pictures soon to share the progress. :)
