Well im definitely not overfeeding, i try to be very careful, but i think they are eating the dead leaves of plants. Either way, ive heard horror stories of pond snails in filters and definitely don't want that to happen to me

give us a picture of your tank so if theres room at the bottom of your tank

I dont think room at the bottom of the tank dictates what kind of loaches you can have... Anyway, I have rid myself of the pond snails, a friend of mine got a clown loach for her 125 and I borrowed it for a week. I think my trumpet population was decemated too but its ok cuz they will come back, but importantly , i havent seen a pond snail in the tank since.
