Questions about Rainbow Sharks

Ok so I bought 3 rainbow sharks from a local fish store today and put them in my 10 gal tank. One thing I neglected to do was check to see what size tank they need, or how big they got. Does any one know whether the 3 sharks will be a problem in a 10 gal. Also what kind of heating temp should I have for them. I have the tank currently setup with plants, a heater set to 77 degrees. I also have a few barbs in the tank with them aswell. They seem to be doing fine. I just wanted to check to make sure they would be fine. Thanks in advance,

Nevermind I found the answer to the whether they will work question. Unfortunately Im gonna have to relocate them because they are territorial and tend to grow big. So I moved one to my 50 gal tank, another to my 30gal, and one is staying put for now until my other 30gal tank finishes cycling for a week. I still dont know what water temp they like. Any info on that would be nice thanks in advance.

We have fish profiles on this site, if you click on "Tropical Fish Profiles" second name from the left in the blue bar across the top you will go there. For ease, here is the direct link to the Rainbow Shark profile:

[Also, in all posts in threads, if the name of a fish is used exactly as it appears in the Profile, the name will appear shaded; clicking on the shaded name will also take youto that fish's profile page.]

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
