This is the loach I bought a few months ago, that has no eyes.
I found him while visiting a new fish store. Someone had brought the loach in, saying it outgrew her tank.
The loach now resides in my 210 gal with 5 other yoyo loaches.
It took the poor fellow about a month before he would leave one corner of the tank, but now it is doing just fine, making full use of all the space and acting just like the other yoyos.

My guess would be from an injury. Maybe not kept with very nice fish at one time.
You can see where his eyes are and some movement of his eye balls, but skin has grown over both of his eyes. It possible he has some vision or can detect light through the skin.

What a special person you are to buy a loach in such condition. Most people wouldn't. Kudos to you. He looks like a nice & healthy yoyo. I'm glad he's making his way around and is comfortable. Yoyos are such great fish. Thanks for sharing the pics! :-D
