Hey I have a 20 gal tank that I'm thinking of putting some thread finned rainbows (Iriatherina werneri) in and was wondering if that is a big enough tank for them? I noticed they are relatively active swimmers. If anyone knows the tank requirements that would be great. The inch rule would be followed but that just doesn't quite seem right to me.
Thanks ya'll.
I just read the profiles on these fish and it gives a minimum of 10 gal tank, which does sound pretty small for fish that get to be 2 inches and are active, but I'm guessing a 20 gal would work than. Have no experience with these fish. I'm sure someone else will weigh in.
Tyler, is this a 20 High or a 20 Long? These fish do need ample swimming area....I wouldn't put them in anything smaller than a tank with a 36" length personally, but I like plenty of cruisin' room for my rainbows.
