intersted in barbs

hi i have beome suddently interested in barbs! i have a few questions

is it okay to keep all the types of barbs together i was trhinking about having
1 Tiger Barb, 1 green Tiger Barb,1 albino barb
2 cherry barbs

how big of a tank i was thinking a 10-15 hevily planted tank

what do they eat, and like etc.

I would go with at least a 20 gal for tiger barbs. The bigger the tank the better. Very active fish, need lots of swimming room.
Tiger barbs and cherry barbs can live together, but you will need to have at least 6 of each type fish. The tiger barbs can become aggressive if not kept in groups of 6 or more. Its fine to mix the colors of tiger barbs.

They are not picky eaters. Flakes, pellets, shrimp, bloodworms, peas, like any fish a good variety is best.

Very true. I have 6 in a 20 right now. THey could use more room if you can afford it. I too suggest nothing less than a 20. I kept mine in a 10 until i could get the 20 fully cycled, they seemed very bored, and always ran out of room.

barbs are fantastic in large groups,they will be very unforgiving,and nasty
if not kept in the more suitable of conditions.
beware of any decore with holes as they may well wedge themselves in.
they will become hand tame over time,as a lot of fish will,and you can feed them from your fingers,
they will pick at your skin if you submerge your arm in the tank for cleaning duties.
