I recently bought a new 10 gallon tank and I put 3 tiger barbs and a shark inside. The barbs leave the shark alone, but the bigger barb has been very aggressive on the other 2 barbs. The other 2 are so scared they just hide behind the filter while the bully roams around the entire tank. No fin nipping yet though.
How can I fix this problem? I am thinking of buying 3 more cherry barbs, would that help them form into a shoal and decrease aggression?
Thank you for your time!
Your tank will be too small for a "shark". I'm assuming it's a red-tail shark. But, yes getting a number such as 5 will help with the aggression. You may want to create some visual barriers, with live plants, rocks etc. You also may need to upgrade the tank in the near future. Welcome to the site! You'll learn a lot
