Giant Danios - pregnant ones keep dying

We have a school of Giant Danios and for some reason every time one gets pregnant and full of eggs, after a few days it hides either at the top or bottom of the tank and then after a while it dies.
Usually, another fish actually eats all its eggs and the body is left behind which is rather gross!

Does anyone have any answers as to why this is?

They do not get pregnant, but they do become full of eggs. What are your water parameters? We will need more information regarding your situation.

I'm ready for the pressure.

I believe I can fly!

I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.

It's possible that they are large-bellied from dropsy, and not full of eggs, especially if they keep dying off.

Pardon the pun, but I'm hooked!
