Feeding time question

I have 10 tiger barbs ranging in size from small to large. Well I feed them flakes and they go crazy (Its fun to watch). Anyways...I also have a couple of small plecos in the tank...and I drop algea disks in there as well....

I have noticed the barbs will try to eat at the algea disks as well as their flake food....my question is....Is this normal. I know they have a tendancy to over eat if they can and was just wondering if this is them being pigs or do I not feed them enough. (Usually I give it a few liberal pinches of food once a day.

47 Gallon tall:

2 Bala Sharks
10 Tiger Barbs
2 Sm. Plecos
2 Red Tailed Sharks
1 goldfish

i wouldnt be too worried about it, if there hungry a fish will eat anything in the tank almost. my cories, pleco, rosy barbs and gourami chew on algae discs sometimes. so do my goldfish.
