Unhappy feeding accident

Ok yesterday a little cousin thought he would sneak and feed my goldfish. Its a tiny maybe 1 1/2 inch fish in a 10 gal tank. So I caught him dumping the bag of sinking shrimp pellets into the tank. About 30 or so pellets made it into the tank. I dug around trying to remove them with a net. I got out as many as I could. List night I did about a 40-50% water change. Needless to say my goldfish looks stuffed, not sure how much he ate. I am thinking I should not feed him for a bit and my question is how long before I should feed him again. I dont normally give those pellets to him as they are for the other tank.

Thanks much

Were it me (and it's not!) I wouldn't feed him again until he looked back to normal, then I'd wait another day after that. It's good you did a pronto water change. Those shrimp pellets really disintegrate fast and mess up the water. Good luck!

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I would let him go a couple days without food.
It would be a good idea to do another gravel cleaning today, just in case you missed anything last night.

Edit*** Good advice from Aunt Kymmie.
