False Siamese Algae Eater?

False Siamese Algae Eater?

False Siamese Algae Eater?

This was sold to me a long time ago as a Siamese Algae Eater. It looks to me like its a False Siamese Algae eater but I'm not totally sure. Sorry the Picture may not be of the highest quality.

Just last night I found a link that explains how to id SAEs.

Genuine Epalzeorhynchos siamensis alias Crossocheilus siamensis and similar species of the genus Crossocheilus often called Red Algae Eater, Siamese Algae Eater, RAE or SAE, in particular Crossocheilus langei and Crossocheilus atrilimes

What you think may be a genuine Crossocheilus siamensis may actually be:
Crossocheilus oblongus
Crossocheilus Langei
Crossocheilus atrilimes
Crossocheilus citripinnis

I have three in my tank and have found that what I have (which I thought and were sold to me as Crossocheilus siamensis are actually: two C. Langei and one C. atrilimes. Until reading this link above I would have bet money that I had three identical fish and that they were C. siamensis.

I don't see barbels on your fish (maybe they are tucked in for this pic) and see that your fish has yellow tinted fins.
