The other fish I have are 2 mollies, 2 blue rams, 3 glass cats, 2 ghost shrimp and a flower shrimp, 2 bumblebee gobies, and an otocinclus cat

I certainly have no problem getting one more (probably couldn't afford or fit 2), although the one I have eats a ton compared to all my little fish, I would also probably have to add another big rock or piece of driftwood, as my current loach lacks a lot of places to hide (he has 2 favorites). Would this be a decent solution until I get a 55g, or should I still try to find him a new home?

loaches LOVE driftwood. if you provide them a good sized piece, they will be fine for a while.

Okay, sounds like a good idea then, the store in the next town has an awesome selection of driftwood, I'll take a drive over there today and get a new piece (maybe it'll help drop my pH back to where I want it too!)
