is he eating when im not around? im pretty sure all the other fish clean up before he gets too it cause hes always asleep

its a ten gallon tank

and the food I use is Wardley cichlid crumbles

 Wow, you've got bigger problems then him not eating, are you aware that clown loaches can grow 16 inches and the minimal shoal size is 5. You need to re home your clown loach.

He probably never comes out because he has no friends..

Sometimes I wonder if people ever think before running off to the fish store. I mean, how hard can it be to read a book or even a website?? Google, first hit. Even the abstract on the google page mentions the size and the shoaling aspect.

Nothing against you, James. You probably liked the fish and the store guy sold it to you without saying a word. It frustrates me that all breeders, producers of equipment, and most store owners accept dead and unhappy fish as part of their business. And the really sad thing is that without this, most store owners could probably not survive.

It is your responsibility to educate yourself, James. Give that fish back and insist on store credit to get something that fits your tank.

Sorry for preaching...^^

What size is the tank, James? Start a group of 6 clown loaches in a 75g. I doubt this is a problem considering their growth rate. It takes over 2-3 years for them to reach 6 inches.
