Can Zebra Danios breed like this?

If I put them in a breeding box and have the eggs go through the grid and settle at the bottom of the breeder? Do you think this could be successful?

I agree - a breeding box is just too cramped. A better idea is to get a nice, thick layer of something like java moss covering the floor of your tank. You could even lower the water level a bit to prevent the adults from eating the eggs as they drop. Of course, for the best hatch rates you'll want to remove the adults and any other fish after the eggs are laid.
