Hi I just received some fish from a friend and I have no idea what they are...I don't really have a picture of them but hopefully my description can be enough.

They are about 2-3 inches long and they look alot like koi fish...but smaller...One is all white, another is black and silver, and the other one is white with an orange head. They are freshwater and they swim alot lol...

I wish i could find a picture of them...

well...i really need to figure out what they are because the white one with an orange head looks like it might be getting sick. There is a greyish kind of mold growing on top of it's eye...i'm not sure if it was always like that but i just noticed it...and i don't want it to die or make the other fishes sick.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advanced.

p.s. if i can get any pics of them i'll post it up

EDIT:
Lol i think they just might be goldfish...not sure though...do goldfish come in alot of different colors?

Welcome to the forum.

Goldfish do come in different colors. Identifying the fish can be difficult if not impossible with several thousands of species available in the aquarium trade. Pictures will definitely help better. Sounds like your fish is either a common goldfish or shubunkin but pictures will help for proper identification.

Please provide us more details. Size of tank, tank maintenance schedule, water parameters(nitrites, ammonia, pH and nitrates), the tank has been cycled or not?, etc. A questionnaire is available in one of the sticky threads in Freshwater Emergencies and Diseases section.:) The more details, the better. Pictures will always help better and prevent mishaps from improper diagnosis and treatments.;)

Good luck.:)
