Here they are. I am so happy with my blue orandas. I never expected one store finally got a hold on these ones. I complained to them why they never told me!!!
I could have narrowly missed this stock again like they did to some ranchus I wanted before. I'm hoping to find some panda orandas next.

Tinkle at the top, Chimecho at the left and Harper at the right.

Harper almost facing the camera

Another pic of them looking sullen from the picture taking.

Now, new pond, hurry up! I want to shove a few more orandas under my turf.

I'm hoping they'll retain their color. So far, I heard only one case of a blue oranda changing to totally white. Black is the most unstable while white is the most stable. Still have one calico whose colors are all intact. My blacks have already transformed to yellow/orange.

Oooohhhh..I can remember them easily as if they were my babies.lol Here are the names.

Some familiar names are no longer there because I lost them to accidents mostly. Satine and Teddy disappeared from my pond. I couldn't see any trace of them dying from any illness and I check my pond almost weekly when I have time. I suspected frogs, cats or my dobermann were somehow involved. Bubbles and Puff were lost to predation when I totally forgot I had a senegal bichir residing in my pond for 2-3 years. Moby finally passed away from a severe bacterial infection with his wen collapsing despite recovering from a tumor surgery completely.

Caroline narrowly survived the powerhead accident. She now lives in another tank where the powerhead is not as powerful as another tank's. I may have to reshuffle my tanks eventually and get the stocks sorted. Some goldfish will move to my new pond to be built this April after my college graduation.

Sooo coool ! Where did tou get them ? Your pic's are the first i've seen or heard of them. I wish i had the energy to keep goldfish and the proper ph. So,were they expensie? When were they availabl? Good luck with them.

Crushed coral! I live in Vancouver... the softest water in the world. The pH is at 7 but GH and KH are 0. When I gave my water stats on a goldfish site the commented that they were surprised by goldies weren't dead! So I got myself a few handfuls of crushed coral from a local hobbyist. If you're stuck you could always just buy a bag of crushed coral, its not that expensive and will last you forever. Some places also sell it in bulk by weight.

The coral made my water from pH 6.6 and GH/KH of 0 to a ph of about 7.8 and a GH/KH of maybe 3-5 degrees. I just put a handful in an old nylon stocking and keep it in my filter. When I do a water change and bring the pH down, the acidic quality of the water starts to dissolve the coral which brings the GH/KH and thus the pH up to normal again. Great stuff!

Depending on how acidic your water is you will have to replace the coral every once in a while when it has completely dissolved but corals cheap and a handful in a 50g tank will last for ages under most conditions.
