Bent GOLDFISH fins

Hey, I recently purchased a calico fantail and have only just noticed that one of it's 4 tail fins is bent upwards awkwardly. I guess it's down to a rough time in transportation but i was wondering if it will be perminant? Will being in a larger space correct it?
Thanks

Here are some pics, Sorry they aren't very clear but the fin labelled is actually his lower tail fin twisted upwards making it hard for him to swim...
Would removal work with anestetics and let the fin grow back in the correct position?

I forwarded this topic to my group of goldfish staff in goldfish forum to determine what needs to be done here, HMlairy. I'll let you know the consensus by tomorrow. Do not do anything else for now.

How bad is its swimming balance? I've had an oranda that suffered a slight twist on the lower caudal lobe but its swimming position was not bad at all.

Beautiful goldfish. I doubt the tail will affect him that much as he grows. It is probably permanent. But I feel trying to correct it will result in much greater problems. I have a couple fish with permanently bent or damaged fins (rescued goldfish) and they grow well, get food well although they are not "perfect". If the fish is having buoyancy issues I suspect its not just the fin.

Any chance you can post a quick video?

He's not having bouyancy issues, his swimming just seems like it's taking him alot of effort compared to my black moor when he was that size.
Thanks Lupin

Already forwarded them the attachments as they could not see the attachments from a guest's point of view. They're not members here. Wait for more responses but consensus so far is they do not believe trimming is necessary at all.
