After a quick google it appears they grow slowly but seems most will outgrow a 10gal tank in about 6 months. They can grow to be 12" so be aware. You will need a fairly large tank once it grows up
Bala sharks can get 14 inches though i have never seen one over 7 inches. They should be kept in a 6 ft long tank as a minimal sized tank.
They also prefer lioveing in schools.
