High nutrient water works best for these corals. Basically the type you wouldn't want for higher corals. Decide early if you can live with them for life as they are a nuisance coral. Once established they will outcompete and out grow everything in the tank. They will grow over your expensive corals and kill them. Once established they are hard to get rid of. They will go aesexual from time to time and melt down. When doing so it's part of the breeding cycle, except your tank will become toxic. If you start with Xenia plan on not keeping expensive SPS.
