what is it doing

Is this leather ok. I have been watching it and the white spot seems to be getting larger every day. Is this normal? Do I need to do anything?

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
nitrate 10

It looks like some sort of pollyp or a mushroom growing on the side of the scallop to me. If this is the case, as long as it doesn;t get into the meat then I would think the scallop sould be fine. I wold also tink that it could very well be removed without much harm to either if you wanted to keep it and transplant it elsewhere.

Hopefully someone who knows more about slat water will tell you for sure but that is what I was able to find in my searching the internet.
