Is there a thing as too much shrimp?

I currently have a 5 gallon nano cube aquarium, and captured some shrimp and snails from the Indian River Lagoon in Ft Pierce, FL, to help with cleaning it (Though save a hermit crab or two), that's all that's in the tank so far. I thought that just 4 ghost shrimp and 2 snails should be enough for the tank, but just recently I found there are actually three snails, one or two hermit crabs, and seven ghost shrimp in the tank. There's plenty of algae for them all to live off of, and they seem to be doing fine so far, but how much is too much?
Also, I checked with Florida laws, and found nothing restricting ghost shrimp, the hermit crabs and snails I have, and also pinfish that I was thinking of getting a couple of as well.
