Stafish and being normal

I just bought a chocolate chip starfish and its doing great, but i was wondering if its normal for it to release this slime stuff with bubbles in it. He doesn't do it continously so i was wondering if its just excretaory or what. Any suggestions or ideas?

ya i think its normal becuase mine does the same thing and ive had him for over a year. so its fine dont worry about it
