xenia

does your xenia spread from your dirty water bear...i thought that would be the case but the one xenia i have in the water that is less than prestine ...without skimming....ihas ceased to pulse...in your experience with xenia is this normal....what i have read and heard from friends is that xenia does what it wants in differnt systems.....but i would like your 2 cents

from the reading i have done the most common factor to good growth was the persons slightly less than great water conditions.. i am not saying stop skimming or stop water changes but those folks who i have spoken to typically do 1x monthly water changes and clean the skimmer at that time....as for each individual doing its own thing... i think thats half of the appeal to saltwater.. nothing is ever duplicated 100% from setting to setting...

Thanks, Brett. Less than pristine water is no problem.

I'm happy to report that I've been working on upping my magnesium by adding epsom salt to the tank. While I of course can't say for sure that getting my Mg where it's supposed to be made the difference, my xenia is pulsing a bit these days.
