I have a 20L tank with a Millennium 3000 Filter and a heater running. Temp is about 72 and currently I have 8lbs of live rock and an inch of live sand. I have a few hermits and two snails (they were suggested to me to help start the cycle. I now know this was stupid and I won't do it again.).

I plan on getting my light this week so I'll need to know what I need to have in order to keep the kinds of corals and inverts I want.

One thing I want is Pulsing Xenia. Would this do well in a 20L tank? What kind of lighting does it require? Temperatures? Feeding? pH? salinity? ect?

With Pulsing Xenia, what other types of corals and inverts can I keep that would do well with the pulsing xenia's water, temp, and lighting requirements?

(Note that I do not plan on getting anything now. I will wait and take my water in for regular testing to make sure the tank is cycled before putting anything in. I know this normally takes between 6-10 weeks.)

just be warned that xenia under the right conditions will spread very fast, sometimes over-running a tank within a week or 2. It would be a good idea to pic up some smaller pieces of liverock for it to spread on to providing xenia frags that you can trade or sell to other aquarists in your area : )

Sounds like a plan. :) I just love the stuff. I love how it moves and its just so graceful. I'm trying to put together a list of things I want to have in my tank and do as much research on them as possible so I know I'm putting compatible specimens in the same tank.

This is the information I have so far on Pulsing Xenia

Pulsing Xenia
pH needed: 8.2-8.5
Temperature: 75-80
SG - 1.023 - 1.025
Carbonate Hardness: 8 - 12°
Calcium: 300 - 420 mg/L
Lighting: (MIN) Power Compact
Tank Size: 30g

It says minimum tank size is 30g. I have a 20L? Will this be an issue?
