Hi everyone, this is my first post. I just joined today but have been a fish lover for years. I am becoming more and more concerned as each day passes for my anemone. im not entirely sure what type it is but its a short tube carpet of some sort. I've had it in my tank for about 4 months. I has a mated pair of percula's that it hosts. the reason for my concern is it seems to be getting very dull looking in color like it's fading away. It hasn't opened fully in over a week(stays 1/2 open at best). It had always been perched on the same spot on my tank on live rock and stood up tall and opened up during the day. lately it doesn't stand up but is floped over with the head of the anemone pointing to the floor of the aquarium, and the foot is slowly moving lower and lower down the live rock. I had been feeding it once a week and was feeding it raw prawns. i have stoped feeding since it has looked i'll and am looking for some advice. anything would be appreciated. also should mention something i have observed... the female clown is being quite rough with the anemone, looks like on occasion it grabs the anemone and thrashes it back and forth a few times....like she's mad at it. i believe this behavior is related to the anemone's health because the clown has only been doing it since the anemone has looked i'll
My tank specifics are: salinity-1.024 , temp - 78deg nitrate/nitrite 0ppm, PH 8.4, ammonia- lessthan .25ppm. lighting: 1-75W powerglow CFL, 1-75W atlantic blue. Approx 5W/Galon
I have 2 perculas, 1 damsel, 1 yellow wrasse, 2 skunk cleaners, 1 peppermint, 8-10 small hemits, 15-18 turbo/certh snails.
Thanks again!
