Leather coral

recently purchased a new COCO leather coral. Its but a couple of days and its still droopy. Is this normal?

All water parameters are in line. Salinity is 1.024.

Who knew a hobby can be soooooooooooo fun and expensive!

Yes it is normal for leathers to curl up like that. They can stayed curled for weeks and reopen evn bigger then what it was before it curled up.

Offer plenty of flow, seriously, and really good filtration as leathers create a toxic mucous slime that they shed about every other day. This slime will kill SPS corals. The leather needs plenty of flow to help it shed. If it does not have enough flow the slime stays in place suffocating the coral. They can live a very long time like that. They just won't puff up or send out feeding tentacles.
