Snapped this pic on our honeymoon in Fiji but can't figure out what it is. I speak of the greenish blue folded creature.

Looks to be a type of open brain. I know there are one or two others that resemble the open brain, so I could be wrong.

Sure looks like a brain to me. Which one is anyone's guess.

Other possibility is that it could be a retracted carpet anemone. Did it pull in like that when it got spooked or was that the only appearance?

it didn't move too much except for the furry like surface. i would agree witht the brain assesment except for it's symmetry was perfect? thanks for the suggestions.

It is definitely a brain.

Perfect symmetry has nothing to do with it. In fact in an undisturbed area most brains would grow exactly like that. It's being pecked by fish or crabs, being constantly beaten by currents coming in one direction, the placement in regards to sunlight, etc... that damage them and cause them to grow in different shapes.
