How do i catch copepods?

I transfered my 75 g tank into a 90g tank and noticed lately that the old 75 is loaded with the pods. i would normally just scoop the sand and dump them in the new tank but we put black sand in the 90 and dont want to mix the white sand. any ideas on how to catch a bunch of these lil guys?

It sounds like you also moved live rock from your 75 to a 90? The live rock will be heavily seeded with copepods and within a few weeks your 90 gallon will also have a heavy supply.

If your 90 gallon uses a sump filter, you could transfer some of the sand from the 75 into the sump. If you do this, put the sand in pantie hose for easy removal after the 90 is seeded.

Just out of curiosity how do you like your black sand? Do you have any pics of it, I was thinking of doing black sand in my 80 but chickened out and went with the traditional white

I have Black Sand in my 10G reef. The log is in the SW pictures and videos, but I do not have any recent pictures. I am going to try to get some tommorow.
