crab information,if you can.

hay salties,
would anyone be able/willing to tell me about this crab please ?
many thanks in advance.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

I have no idea what type of crab it is but it's very, very cute.

I have no idea what species it is, but judging from it's claws, it looks like its a carnivore. Sharp claws are used for cutting meat, spoon-shaped claws are used for scraping algae. That's about all I can say, sorry I couldn't give you more info!

update: looks like a mix between a Gorilla crab and a stone crab... gorilla crabs appear "hairy" though I think, and this guy seems kind of bald lol. So I'm not sure what species still, but search gorilla crab and stone crab, that may put you on the right track.

agreed, you will see issues as time will go on, and if you get corals in the tank.
