They already got eaten? If so that really stinks. If the male would have eaten them, it's normally because the first batch is the batch that doesn't do well and the male will eat those that have a bit of a something wrong with them. IF the male doesn't eat them then they are more then likely a viable batch. The male will aerate the eggs.

Have you done the research to keep them alive if they lay another batch?

Yes , it does stink that they just become fishfood for my other fish but have you seen my tank? It takes up alot of time, space and money and to be honest with you, I don't have anymore of either to spare on setting up another tank for the fry. I looked into it and it is just too involved for me to get into right now. Maybe some day.
