can anybody please I.D these green growths on my live rock
These little green fellows started to appear about 2 weeks ago and at my last count I had 20, plus more appearing daily. The biggest ones are at about 10mm but getting bigger by the day. They react well to light as in the mornings after have no light they are half white and green but after an hour of have light they turn back to their bright green colour.
Neomeris annulata. It is a Macro Algae that feeds on the calcium in your tank. If this continues to thrive in your tank, make sure its growth is not adversely affecting your calcium levels.
many thanks for you speady response. Your answer explains my rescent water test at my LFS, that came up with a low cacium level. At present it's not a major problem as i dont have any hard corals but do plan to in the near future. Should i try to remove the algae or just add a calcium supplement.
